New Year’s Resolutions

Ok, it is time to state your New Year’s Resolution.  Many people make them.  Many people break them before January is even out.  I have a two simple resolutions.

1.  I want to do more.  What?  Anything good – declutter my house more, write more, love other people more – just do more…

2.  I want to make a difference.  How?  Does it matter?  Maybe just by smiling at people more.  It is amazing how little it takes to make a difference in someone else’s life.

Reading Challenge

Ok, so the Literacy Council of White County is offering a reading challenge. There are two of them, read a book a week, and read a book a month. I thought perhaps in my case, there should be a read a book a day, since I do read a lot. I am always in the middle of 4 or 5 books at a time. But in the last few days, I have finished a book from the Pern series, plus Bayou Brides and Regency Brides – the last two for “research” of course, for the romance novel that I am someday going to write…I’m also in the middle of two or three mysteries, a couple of writer’s guides type books, and, of course, my ongoing research into various aspects of history…Have fun reading!

First experience

Ok, this is my first experience blogging. Not sure what I’m doing, but I’m doing it…So, why am I doing this? Partly because of the reading challenge that the Literacy Council of White County is doing. Partly because I am a published author and singer, and people tell me that I need to blog. So, Happy New Year, everybody! and welcome to my obscure thoughts…
